We are not a big breakfast family at all, so its normally not a thing for us to eat it since we are always on the go in the morning, but Bentley has Spring Break this week so the other day I figured I would whip up some easy French Toast. Both my kids enjoyed it and got a thumbs up from the hubby so i think its a win. If you like it and decided to make the whole loaf of bread or have leftovers, you can put them in a zip block bag and chuck them in the freezer, then in the mornings you can cook them in the toaster a simple and fast breakfast to go. Yay for mom wins.
Easy French Toast
I let my bread sit on the stove top for a few hours to kind of dry out and easier to work with that I have found.
Preheat oven to 200 ( For Holding)
Combine eggs, milk, and vanilla in shallow bowl
Preheat large nonstick pan on medium-high 2-3 mintues, Add 1 tablespoon butter; swirl to coat
Dip bread slices one at a time, into the egg mixture coating both sides; remove and let excess drip off, then place in pan Cooking for 2-3 minutes on each side or until golden brown. ( place in oven, on baking sheet, to keep warm)
Serve with a little Powered sugar on top and some fruit on the side. (optional)
It’s fall, and Fall means Halloween. Now when you think of Halloween I doubt you think of Hot Chocolate, well I live in Florida and When it does get cold here you need some to stay warm because our bodies are not used to the chilly season. So the other day Bentley and I wanted something quick and easy and satisfying, and we whipped up just that. With Halloween a few days away, I thought why not make some Halloween looking hot chocolate, I knew it would be fun and simple to make!
I went to Walmart and grabbed all of these ingredients and supplies in the seasonal section for under $15 in the seasonal section near the front. I had already had milk and Half and Half.
I hope you enjoy this spooky treat for you and your family! It was a hit with my little ones and Hubby! Plus during making the hot chocolate I made some little Hot Chocolate skeleton “stirrers” with our extra orange chocolate to mix in with or drinks to make it a little more delicious.
Delicious Halloween Hot Chocolate
In a large pot, add milk and half-and-half, and heat over medium heat until simmering but not boiling.
Stir in other your white chocolate chips or orange chocolate. Continue stirring until chocolate is completely melted and the mixture is creamy.
Stir until smooth. Serve warm.
Optional Add Whipped Cream on the top and a few Halloween themed sprinkles!
Now I threw in more white chocolate chips and a little bit of the orange chocolate, which is the reason for my lighter colored orange hot chocolate, but if you really want that Orange to pop then add most orange then white chocolate.
