Leo's Birth Story!

Through out my whole pregnancy I had secretly wished he would come earlier so I could hold him and know that he was safe, but nope Leo wanted to show me that waiting until 40 weeks and 6 days was the best choice for him to keep growing to become the 8 pound 7 oz bundle of pure cuteness and joy that out little family needed.


When went to the hospital around 10 pm hoping he would make his arrival. I was feeling so,e major discomfort in my back, which we believed was a pinched nerve that I had been having for the past week, which believe it or not worse then the contractions.

After waiting and nothing really happening or progressing , I slept on and off till around 3:50am when my water broke on its own. The nurse was really surprised on how much fluid I had. Finally after an hour afterwards, I couldn’t handle the back pain any longer so I asked for a Epidural to ease the pain. Man did that thing work!

Finally after a few hours of some more sleep, the new nurse for that day came in around 8 am and checked my cervix. She said I was 10cm dilated and ready to start pushing. Because Leo’s head was a little bigger then we thought, It was taking longer to push him out then anticipated. After about 2 hour’s they let me take a nice half hour break an had me sit up to see if gravity would help at all. Finally after anohter hour of pushing at 10:35am Leo Robert Jackson Bindscheattel was born! Weighing 8lb’s 7oz and 20.5 inches long. Completely healthy as can be!

Bentley was with my mom in the waiting room waiting to see his little brother! Which he loved the minute he saw him in daddies arms. 17021370_974860622614617_8676750041215561458_nLeo has sure been my toughest pregnancy and birth out of my two babies. The hospital stay was only for a 24 hours after he was born. Leo passed all of his tests so we were able to take our Lion cub home later the next day.

10 things no one tells you about being pregnant.

When I first got pregnant with Bentley at 19 people would sit and tell me loads of amazing advice about being pregnant and becoming a mom, and now being pregnant with Leo at 24 they still say the same things, but I have figured out by this pregnancy that there is just some stuff that no one tells you! So here’s my list of my experience and what I think you should know about being pregnant.


10. Feeling your baby kick you is weird and sometimes painful.

I love feeling my babies kick inside my tummy, but it sometimes is not fun and exciting. One time Bentley kicked me and hit a nerve and I fell into a wall… This time Leo loves to just kick my bladder as I walk so I always feel like I’m going to pee myself. No one explained how weird and sometimes unpleasant it would be.

9.Sometime you will HATE your favorite food.

My favorite food is broccoli ( I know i’m weird )  and I knew about all the cravings I would have but no one told me that quite possibly I would hate my favorite food! My suggestion, eat it when you want it! Don’t hesitate , if you suddenly want your favorite food and have been hating it during the whole pregnancy.. tell your hubby, boyfriend, or who ever to go out and get it.

8. Hormones are crazy

Obviously you hear about having crazy hormones on TV, or from other moms but you think “Nah not me”, but guess what .. One minute you’re sad then happy, then god knows what else. It’s real, and it sucks. With Bentley I wasn’t that bad, but being pregnant with Leo I have found out that I might be a tad bit crazy.. I have been getting a little short tempered with people(mostly family) , then feeling completely guilty 5 seconds later.

7. Friends

You will learn who your real friends are during this time. If you’re a younger mother, most of your friends will not understand shit that is going on with you, or not understand why  you cant stay out till 3 am like before because you just want to stay in bed and sleep. My best advice, let them go. From here on out its about you and that baby, and making sure its healthy and happy. You can always join a Mommy group, there are tons around the internet who do understand everything you are going through and if you find the right one you could make some awesome friends who also like to sleep at 3 am.

6. Other Mom’s opinions

Every other mom WILL put their “advice” in your situation. Get over it.. right now. Learn that you will be judged about everything. If you are going breastfeed, if you don’t, if you are going use regular or cloth diapers, if you should co-sleep or not, and etc. You WILL be judged , and you just have to teach yourself that they might “mean well”, but you do whats best for your child. You go by what you think is safest or right for your child. I am super bad about this, I always let what people think into my head and it overwhelms me way to much. I’m slowly learning not to let it bother me and tell them to shut it or ignore them..

5. Hemorrhoids 

Gross, yes I know, but they happen to some moms, and no one ever wants to talk about them because they do suck and they are painful, and gross. If they get too painful see your doctor or midwife so they can give you some cream to help with the pain.

4. Maternity clothes are sometimes ugly and expensive. 

Yep, some of them you will look at and say “ew this is what I have to pick from” or “holy cow $40 for a shirt” If you can wear them, my best advice is get a bunch of leggings or yoga pants. Complete life savor and money savor.

3. The last few Weeks..

The last few weeks go by so slow! No one told me that with my second child I would be dying to have baby Leo come out sooner rather than later. Every cramp, pain and total clean fest I am constantly wondering ” Is this it?” no… no its not. Just try and be patient.. Try being the key word.

2. Wives tales to jump start labor. 

Of course everyone tells you about them.. Red Raspberry Leaf  Tea, Walking, Exercise, sex, Pineapples, and spicy food.. We’ve heard them all, but what no one tells you, is that its completely depressing when NONE of them work.. We have tried everyone out there, except castor oil… I really don’t want to be shitting my self all night so I have stayed away from that one.

1 Being Pregnant is a blessing. 

I constantly see the post of fake pregnancies on Facebook from other girls, and at first I thought it was funny… until last January I had a miscarriage.. You hear it happen to some moms and really don’t think it could happen to you.. but it can.. and its the worst feeling ever, but when/if you become pregnant again the over whelming joy feeling of knowing this time its going to be okay… Will make you feel like this child is such a blessing and trust me it is! Yes, I lost a child but now we have an angel watching over us and god has given us another chance. Blessing.


Being Pregnant has its Major ups, and major downs. If you feel depressed about anything, talk to your Doctor/Midwife, friends and family. Ask around to see what advice people give you, but don’t let their opinions become an obsession of doubt in your mind.. it could turn what is suppose to be the most amazing experience into a shity one.

39 Weeks down 1 To go!

  • 1 cm dilated
  • Dropped even lower! 
  • Only 1 week to go!
  • Horrible Sleep 
  • Leo is being stubborn! 
  • Have tried everything for to go into labor !
Weight Gain/Loss:  Week20-158  Week23-160  Week31- 179 Week35 -186 Week39- 192
Sleep: Hot flashes are still a thing for me, but getting more rest before he gets here.
Best Moment This Week: 
We took Bentley to Disney World! In hopes the walking would jump start labor, which did not work… We still had an amazing time, Bentley went on his fist roller coaster called “Seven Dwarfs Mine Train” and “Splash Mountain”.


Movement:He has been slowing down on kicking me the last few days, hopefully that’s a sign for him wanting to come out!
Food Cravings: Nothing I’ve really been craving this week.
What I Miss: Not having hot flashes! They Suck!
Mood: Just wishing he was here already!
Upcoming Appointments/Events: had an appointment on Tuesday  and doctor said Leo is head down still and I am 1 cm dilated and 50% thinned! so it could be any day now!

What I look forward to:  Finally welcoming our baby boy to the world!

35 Weeks down 5 to go !

  • Had my Baby Shower
  • Constantly moving
  • Only 5 weeks to go!
  • Horrible Sleep 
  • Barely getting sleep
  • Went to the hospital and found out I have a bad UTI.
Weight Gain/Loss:  Week20-158  Week23-160  Week31- 179 Week35 -186
Sleep: Sleep is horrible… Cant get comfy and am having hot flashes
Best Moment This Week: 
Had My baby shower this weekend, it was amazing thank you to my mother who made all cute decorations, and put the whole thing together for me. We Played a lot of fun games, and had some yummy cake!
Movement: He loves to kick me in my bladder. You cant see him move so much through my shirts now! 
Food Cravings: Speedway Limeade Icee
What I Miss: Being able to walk at a normal pace, and not like a drunk turtle.
Mood: Tired a lot , and getting very anxious!
Upcoming Appointments/Events:I had an appointment on Monday and doctor said Leo is head down already and looks great! He didn’t check if i was dilated. 

What I look forward to:  Hoping to see him soon! I already love him so much !

31 weeks down, 9 weeks to go!

Highlights and Lowlights of my Pregnancy Week 31:


  • Third Trimester 
  • Constantly moving
  • Only 9 weeks to go!
  • Having contractions 
  • Barely getting sleep
  • Bentley is starting to notice more that there is a baby coming and he will no longer be the only little one in the house.
Weight Gain/Loss:  Week20-158  Week23-160  Week31- 179
Sleep: Can not sleep on my stomach anymore, and its becoming harder to get comfy and fall asleep.
Best Moment This Week: 
Christmas was amazing! Felt little monster move all day! Bentley is starting to get really excited. Buddy our Elf left for the North Pole and Bentley got a new bike and Some Dinosaurs from Santa! See a few of Buddy the Elf’s adventures over at,  4 Easy Elf on The Shelf Ideas.
Movement: So active, and has the hiccups a lot! also he loves to kick me in the bladder almost have pee’d my self a few times!
Food Cravings: McDonald’s Hash Browns are becoming a must in the mornings!
What I Miss: Fitting into my old clothes..
Mood: Happy and getting excited and finally have started nesting!
Upcoming Appointments/Events: I have an appointment coming up on the 2nd to see if i am dilated and how my cervix is doing!

What I look forward to: Only 9 more weeks to go! Planning for the baby shower coming up in January.

It's okay not to be in love with being pregnant again.

First off, if you found out you are pregnant again or finding out you are pregnant for the first time, Congratulations! Having a child is the best gift you could ever have.

Back in January James and I had a miscarriage and I was heartbroken, I didn’t move from my bed,  you never understand pain until you lose a child ( even if you only carried that child for a small amount of time).

When we found out that we were pregnant again of course we were excited and over joyed, but still being 7 months pregnant today, I’m not in love with it like I was with Bentley or my angel baby. I actually see my self wishing that my baby was here more and more, just because I hate feeling sluggish and miserable all the time. For months I would beat my self up saying “I don’t deserve this child” or calling my self a bad mother. I talked to my OBGYN and let him know my concerns, and how I felt about my self and this pregnancy.

{Now I would like to let it be known so no one gets mixed signals, I am in love with this child, and I would not take back being pregnant or having this baby.}

My OBGYN explained to me that it’s okay with the way I feel and that its normal, especially after having a miscarriage.  You’re going to feel as if it’s your fault and that you did something wrong but you didn’t and that the best thing for you do is talk to someone, be it your spouse, partner, friends, or your doctor/midwife . Anyone that will lend an ear to listen to what you have to say, and not judge you for how you feel or felt is the best for your self and that new little bundle of joy you are carrying.

I feel my self worrying more and more if something’s wrong with the baby because the farther along I get the harder it will be if something were to happen on me and my family. My doctor says that I’m just scared to get attached to him and feel hopeless that is there nothing I could do if something were to occur. He told me that it’s normal and just to try and relax as much as I can, because getting my self all worked up and worried is not very healthy for the baby and I.

Also just know, that you are not alone and that there are people out there that can help you. Other mothers out there that understand what exactly you are going through and have gotten though the same struggle.

So talk to someone, let them know how you are feeling. and what you are feeling, maybe they have been through it or are going through it as well and you can become your own little support group.

23 Weeks Down, 17 weeks to go!

A little update on Baby Bindscheattel!

Highlights and Lowlights of my Pregnancy Week 23:


  • He’s has been active mostly right before bed.
  • Back pain has gone away
  • Specialist says he is growing perfectly
  • Still feeling tired most of the day.
  • Still look more fat then pregnant

Sleep: Starting to not be able to sleep on my stomach
Best Moment This Week: 
James Felt baby kicking for the first time this week!
Movement: Becoming more and more active, and has the hiccups a lot.
Food Cravings: Still want Olive Garden bread sticks.
What I Miss: Having energy to do more around the house.
Mood: Happy and getting excited!
Upcoming Appointments/Events:  Went to the specialist this week and the Doctor says He is growing perfectly and My placenta is in the correct spot and not moving into my muscle. Next regular Doctors appointment on the 7th

What I look forward to: Bentley’s birthday party coming up in November, little man is turning 4!

20 weeks down, 20 to go!

We’re half way there with baby Bindscheattel!

Highlights and Lowlights of my Pregnancy Week 20:

  • Starting to feel baby move more
  • Baby boy had a strong heartbeat at my appointment.
  • Being blessed with a healthy baby and pregnancy so far!
  • Having major Mid/ Upper back pain at times.
  • Still feeling tired most of the day.
  • Had to go to the hospital food possible food poisoning.
Weight Gain/Loss:  lost 4lbs 
Sleep: Sleep has been okay, Still can lay on my stomach at times.
Best Moment This Week: Starting to really feeling baby move around in lower belly. He really likes to be awake and moving in around 2am!
Movement: Becoming more and more active everyday!
Food Cravings: Really have been wanting Olive Garden bread sticks.
What I Miss: I miss being able to fit in my regular clothes.
Mood: Emotional and really tired!
Upcoming Appointments/Events:  Had a doctors appointment today, went great Doctor says he is very active and heartbeat is great! I do have to go to a specialist for another ultrasound just to check out my placenta. Next appointment in 4weeks.

What I look forward to: Start looking pregnant instead of looking fat..

Planing for a Baby Financially


Being on a tight budget and being a stay at home mom and pregnant with Baby #2, I needed to find ways to save some money before baby arrives. So far I’ve saved up to $50 in gift cards, and already bought Remy over 100 pieces of clothing ranging from newborn to 12 months, and some baby gear.  Here’s how I saved hundreds for my soon to be family of four at 20 weeks pregnant.

5. Shopkick App


Shopkick is this amazing Phone app where once you enter certain stores, scan the Items on the list, purchase certain items, and scan receipts you earn kicks, and when you have enough kicks you can trade them in for gift cards Ranging from Walmart, Starbucks, Target, even save money on gas! I have gotten up to $50 in gift cards using this App. It does take time, but over the course of 9 months you can rack up some kicks!

4. Stock up 

You probably see “Stock Up” on every blog talking about planning for a baby financially, But by buying diapers and wipes, even toilet paper now and when you see them on sale you will save for the future.

3. Coupon’s  

Coupon’s are such a money saver!  Now you don’t have to become an extreme coupon-er to save money, even just saving a few dollars here and there is still saving! When I started with coupons I was so confused , so many different kinds of coupons, and rules. To get started I went to YouTube and watched different videos but mostly got all my information from this amazing blog. She explains everything so well, and makes it easy to follow.

2. Sell what you don’t need or Trade for what you do need.

If you have some clothes you don’t wear or some house items that just don’t go along with your house anymore sell it. Chances are there are Facebook pages for your county where you can sell your items.  You can also trade with other moms. Say you have some clothes that don’t fit your prego belly  and another mom has some clothes that her baby out grew, you can trade for them.

1. Garage Sales

My biggest saver! I was blessed enough to drive up on a garage sale, where a mother was selling her son’s clothes he didn’t fit in anymore. When i had picked out about $5.00 worth of clothes she told me shes gonna pack up and donate the rest of what i didn’t take. I ended up basically getting everything for $45. From baby clothes, maternity clothes, bottles and even a Boppy Pillow! Now not every garage sale you pull up to will do this, but you can find a lot of stuff cheaper which is always great and saves a bunch of money.


Some other ideas could be

  • Start a little Home daycare
  • Find a craft you’re good at and sell the item.
  • Become a consultant for a company ( Such as It works, Scentsy, or Usborne Books)

Saving money can be challenging, but if you follow some of those ideas, it should start becoming a litttle easier, and once you start saving you’ll find more and more ways to save! What do you do to save before a baby is due to arrive? Share some of your ideas below in the comment box!
