Lady and the Tramp Meatballs

So recently we’ve been doing movie nights in the house, and I would make a corresponding dinner to go with it. We started with the classics and are slowly movie up, the other night we watched a movie not really that popular now but is still an wonderful movie. Lady and the Tramp. Of course the first thing that should come to mind is the iconic scene between the two lovers, while sitting at a table made just for them by the chef he brings out the delicious plate of spaghetti while the chef sings and Tramp scoots a meatball with his nose to lady then the two accidentally grab the same piece of spaghetti and kiss, so adorable!

So of course the dinner I made for us that went with this movie was spaghetti and meatballs, but my recipe I’m sharing with you today were for the awesome meatballs I made to go with it! I do have to say that when you mix everything together, mix it with your kids! We had a fun family cooking night, Bentley loved squishing the ground beef in between his finger. Just of course make sure to wash your hands before and after, and to never let anyone eat raw meat. It’s not like cookie dough, it will seriously get you sick.

  1. Combine onions, ground beef, eggs, garlic, pepper flakes, breadcrumbs, oregano, salt, fennel, and pepper.Mix until combined.
  2. Roll into 8 to 9 large meatballs
  3. Heat oil in large nonstick skillet over medium heat/high heat. Add meatballs, and sear on all sides a few at a time.
  4. Add Spaghetti sauce and let simmer on Medium/low for 25 to 30 mintues or until the indise of the meatball reaches 160 F.
  5. Serve on top of Spaghetti pasta.

Mickey Pumpkin Pie Pop’s

Fall is the start of my favorite time of the year. Cute clothes, fun crafts and games, and most importantly delicious food. Fall also means that there is pumpkin everything like Coffee, Cereal, Donuts, and of course Pie. Now I recently saw a photo of a pie on a stick.. I thought to my self, I wonder if its pumpkin or cherry , and if it would taste better if it was Mickey shaped, because everything always is. So I decided to make Mickey Shaped pumpkin pie pops, its actually really simple and fun to make with the kids!

My family loved these, so much that I’m probably going to make it for Thanksgiving for the kids! I sure hope you enjoy the Recipe! Let me know what you think down below in the comments!

Mickey Pumpkin Pie Pop's
A delicious Pumpkin Pie on a stick shaped like Mickey Mouse!

  1. Preheat oven to 350F
  2. Roll our Pie crust, and with your Mickey Mouse cookie cutter cut out Mickey shapes.
  3. Mix together in a bowl the pumpkin puree, pumpkin spice, maple syrup, and brown sugar.
  4. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper, and set out half of the Mickey shapes.
  5. Brush beaten egg over each of the Mickey shapes.
  6. Gently press the lollipop stick into the pie dough, making sure it's indented slightly into the dough. There should be at least 1 inch of lollipop stick pressed into the dough.
  7. Add a small spoonful of the pumpkin mixture to the center of the shape, over the lollipop stick, being sure to leave at least half an inch of space around the outer edges of the pumpkin shape to seal it closed.
  8. Line up the other half of the pumpkin shapes on top of the bottom pumpkin shape and the pumpkin mixture. Press the edges closed slightly with your fingers.
  9. Using a fork, press around the edges of the pumpkin shape to seal it completely.
  10. Brush the top of the pumpkins with the beaten egg.
  11. Bake at 350F for 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown.

Mickey Strawberry and Brownie Sticks

Sometimes Bentley is a serious picky eater, and I get tired of making different things for just him, that includes snacks. Something that has kinda changed my view on making different things for him is turning them into some fun “food art”. Today’s fun snack is Mickey strawberry and brownie sticks! Obviously another way to avoid it is by just telling him tough and make him eater whatever I fix him, but sometimes its just not worth it, just pick your battles on whats really important that day. Plus who wouldn’t want to make anything Mickey shaped?

Super simple to make!

 What You’ll Need:

  • Toothpicks
  • Grill Skewers
  • Strawberries
  • Brownies


So to make them, Just Start by taking a Strawberry slice it down the middle splitting it in half, use one side for Mickey’s face. Use the other side to make the ears, by cutting circles two circles.

Taking the small toothpicks break it in half, and use them to stick on the ears to the top of the unused side of the strawberry. Slide the strawberry Mickey onto the skewer you just made. With the brownies make them brownies according to the box, after baked let them cook then cut them into small squares squares or like I did cut a few mickey heads out, then slide them under the strawberries.

Then bam, a fun and delicious snacks/deserts. Bentley and I loved these, and it made making his snack less boring!

Judy Hopps Donut Sugar Cookies

So if you haven’t seen Disney’s Zootopia you are missing out on a great movie. Not the best Disney movie but a great one with a heart warming meaning behind it, and saying that I noticed the huge donut that almost crushed the little mouse, but Judy Hopps saves the day and grabs the donut before it crushes her! Awesome right?

So I thought how cool would it be to make the donuts, but instead of donuts, change it to sugar cookies! Now unfortunately I don’t have brown food coloring so I made it blue like the color of uniform! Down below is the recipe for the Cookie then for the Royal Icing.

Cookie Recipe


  • 1 cup softened butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp almond extract
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 3 cups flour


        • Medium Circle cookie cutter
        • small circle Cookie cutter



              1. Heat oven to 350 degrees
              2. Cream the butter and sugar
              3. Add in extract and eggs
              4. In a separate bowl, combine flour and baking powder
              5. Slowly add flour mixture to wet ingredients, until mixed
              6. Place dough out on rolling surface
              7. LIGHTLY sprinkle with flour, IF necessary, to reduce sticking (too much flour can make the dough crumbly)
              8. Knead dough, and roll out to a 1/4 thickness
              9. Cut cookies in to a circle then using a smaller circle cut out centers of the larger circle
              10. Bake for 6-8 minutes
              11. Let sit for 30 minutes or until cool.
              12. While cooling make Royal Icing ( Directions below )
              13. After cookies have cooled using a piping bag. Pipe Icing between the large circle and the smaller inner circle.
              14. Use toothpick to smooth out icing.
              15. Sprinkle on sprinkles.


      Royal Icing


              • 1 1/2 cup confectioner’s sugar
              • 1 Tbls Milk ( almond, rice, soy, cow )
              • 2 tsps light corn syrup
              • 1/2 tsp vanilla or almond extract
              • add water if needed for thinning
              • 1-2 drops of Brown or Blue Food coloring
              • Spinkles



              • Add confectioner’s sugar and Milk to bowl
              • Using Mixer  mix untill mostly lump free.
              • Add corn syrup and Extract
              • Continue to mix untill smooth for about 45 seconds – 1 Mintues
              • * if its too think add water by the tsp ( a little goes along way ) if it’s to thin add more confectioners sugar.

      Note: Royal Icing should somewhat hold its shape for a count of 10 This will make a perfect consistency for cookies.

Captain America M&M Sugar Cookies

The Fourth of July is just days away! When I think of this hoilday the first thing that comes to mid is the great people who are over seas and at home protecting us so we can live in this free country, but Disney wise i think of Captain America. I mean you cant get more patriotic then him! From his Suit, to his shelid it all just screams America! SO to celibrate our great nation in a Disney styled way I made Captain America M&M Sugar Cookies!!!

What you will need:
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) butter
  • 1-1/3 cups granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • red food color
  • Blue mega M&M’s

    What to do:

  1. Preheat oven to 350
  2. In a bowl sift together flour, baking powder & salt.
  3. In another mixer bowl with paddle attachment – beat butter until soft! (or use a Hand Mixer)
  4. Add sugar & beat until light & fluffy.
  5. Add in eggs one at a time – make sure you beat after each one.
  6. Add vanilla
  7. Add dry mixture & slowly beat in until combined all together.
  8. Remove half the dough & wrap in plastic wrap.
  9. Flatten out to 4×4″ piece &  refrigerate.
  10. With the rest of the dough beat in food color to your desired pigment. I added close to 40 drops of gel color to get this red.
  11. *Also- adding this much color will make your dough super sticky. You may want to coat hands in powdered sugar or flour for easier handling.
  12. Remove red dough & separate into 2 equal parts. Wrap with plastic & refrigerate at least 30 minutes.
  13. After it has chilled – remove one of the red dough packs
  14. Place between 2 layers of parchment & roll our to a large rectangle
  15. Remove top layer of parchment & roll dough into a log. This will be your center!
  16. Wrap back up with parchment & put in freezer while you work with the next layer.
  17. Remove your white dough from refrigerator & roll out in the same way you did the first batch.
  18. Once you have a thin, even rectangle – place your red log on the white dough & roll into a larger log.
  19. Repeat these steps for the final red dough.
  20. When you are done you should have a large red log
  21. baking sheets with parchment paper
  22. Take the log & slice it into 1/4 inch rounds
  23. Place on baking sheet 2 inches apart so you dont risk them touching
  24. Bake 9-11 minutes
  25. Right when you remove from oven – place your blue M&M’s in the center before the cookies cool down!

Disney's Monster's Inc. Cake Jars

Bentley has always loved the movie “Monster’s Inc” and “Monsters University”. His first birthday was actually themed as Monsters Inc. Loving this movie, we decided to have a movie night, and I thought making some Monsters Inc. inspired food would be an awesome bonus.

 What do you need:

Mason jars
Vanilla cake mix and recipe ingredients (water, oil, and eggs)
Vanilla frosting
Food coloring (neon green, neon blue, purple)
Small pastry bag and hairy icing tip

What to do :

1. follow instructions on the cake box and make your cake mix.
2. After you have your cake mix already separate cake mix into 3 bowls
3. Take you neon food coloring and mix in Blue into one bowl, Green into one bowl, and in your smallest bowl use purple food coloring.
4. Begin filling jars. For the Mike jar, fill jar halfway with green cake mix. For the Sulley jar, add a layer of blue cake mix, then add small drops of purple cake mix on the sides. Continue adding purple spots as you layer in blue cake mix. Do not fill more than halfway.
5. I baked mine for about 20 Minutes , but keep watch on them cause they can become brown on the bottom if you cook them too long.
6. Let cakes cool completely before icing.
7. For the Mike cake put a quarter dot of icing in the middle for the white of his eyes, and using the blue food coloring  make blue icing and  put a dime size dot on top of the white icing.
8. Making Sully use the pastry bag , put the rest of your blue icing in the bag and pipe the icing on the cake making it look like hair, or use a grass /hairy icing tip.
9. In a separate pastry bag using the purple icing repeat step 8.
10. Serve and enjoy!

Now if you have any cake mix left , make some cupcake with them! Just put the cake mix in cupcake liners , in cupcake pans the same way you did the mason jars (only fill half way) , bake for as long as the box says too and icing just like you did for the mason jars! Serve and Enjoy! These are even good for those mom who wants a snack on the go! Wont be disappointed.

Mickey Mouse Apple Crumble


Ever just want something sweet Mickey Mouse shaped? I know my family does! When we are missing the parks I like to make some Mickey shaped treats to I guess you can say to fill the void! Today I made a Mickey Mouse shaped apple crumble! It’s a huge hit in my house, and didn’t even last a whole day!

My kitchen is Disney inspired, so during our last stay at Disney World my parents got me this adorable Mickey Mouse shaped Casserole Dish, which I fell in love with! I thought Id use this to make my apple crumble!

What You’ll Need:

1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1 cup sugar
3/4 cup  unsalted butter, room temperature
1 large egg
1/4 cup orange juice
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
2 med granny smith apples, peeled, cored and chopped (2 cups)
1 Tbsp lemon juice


1. Preheat the oven to 350. Spray an 8×11 baking pan with non-stick spray. ( I used My Mickey Mouse Casserole Dish)

 2. Mix the dry ingredients together in a medium bowl.
 3. Stir the chopped apples and lemon juice together and put aside.
 4. In a large bowl, cream the sugar and butter together.

5. Add in the egg, orange juice and vanilla.

 6. Mix in the dry ingredients, then fold in the apples. Spread into an even layer in the prepared baking dish.

7. Bake for 45-50 minutes, until brown on top and a toothpick  into the middle of the cake comes out clean.

If you want to make it extra sweet pour some caramel on it, or serve it with some ice cream! This was such a hit in my house, and Bentley loved the fact it was shaped as Mickey Mouse!

Mickey Mouse Apple Pie Apples!

Fall always brings out the yummy apple recipes in my house, Bentley is such a fruit child that we always have to have some kind of fruit laying around for him to munch on. If you have ever been to Disney World or Disneyland you know there is some Disney candy covered apples in the parks! This fall we cant make it to the Disney Parks to get some, so I thought that we would make our own! YUM


What you need:

  • 4 large Granny Smith apples

  • 5-6 c. caramels (or appx. 1 bag Kraft Caramel bits)

  • 7-8 cinnamon graham crackers

  • 1 1/2 lbs. melting chocolates (or chocolate chips)

  • cinnamon and sugar, to taste (appx 2 Tbsp sugar + 1/8 tsp. cinnamon)

  • 8 large marshmallows (if you want to make “ears” which in my opinion makes it more magical)



What to do:

1. Scrub apples and dry with a dishcloth or paper towel. This is to get the wax coating off

2. Melt caramel in the microwave (in a micvrowave-safe dish) for 30 seconds at a time until caramel is nice and melted or follow directions on package if using the Bits.

3. Place caramel apple sticks or cop sticks into the top of each apple and dip each apple into the caramel until fully coated, rotating the apple as needed. Let excess caramel drip off and them place on wax paper. ( Make sure you spray the wax paper with Pam or other non stick spray before placing them on paper, they WILL stick to paper if you don’t)

4. If you want to make ears take marshmallows dip a side in the caramel and place on the the top of the apples to make ears( I also learned that putting toothpicks through the marshmellows into the apple helps hold so much better) , hold for about 15 seconds. Let sit for about an hour or longer if you want. ( you can also put in fridge )

5. Put graham crackers in zip block bag , and smash with mallet. Make sure they are really broken down. Place in bowl and set aside.

6. Melt chocolate in a microwave-safe dish in the microwave until chocolate is just melted and there are no lumps. Dip each apple in the chocolate and allow chocolate to set up for a few seconds.

7. When chocolate has set a little, roll the bottom half in processed graham cracker crumbs, pat down hand just a tad. Sprinkle entire apple with cinnamon and sugar and set aside.


 With this treat I wanted to make it more kid friendly and have a little help, my son Bentley help me mash the gram crackers and roll the chocolate covered apples in the gram crackers. My only tip is don’t double dip from chocolate to gram crackers back to chocolate, we had to learn the hard way. Other then that , we had a blast making them and a blast eating them as well!
