It’s fall, and Fall means Halloween. Now when you think of Halloween I doubt you think of Hot Chocolate, well I live in Florida and When it does get cold here you need some to stay warm because our bodies are not used to the chilly season. So the other day Bentley and I wanted something quick and easy and satisfying, and we whipped up just that. With Halloween a few days away, I thought why not make some Halloween looking hot chocolate, I knew it would be fun and simple to make!
I went to Walmart and grabbed all of these ingredients and supplies in the seasonal section for under $15 in the seasonal section near the front. I had already had milk and Half and Half.
I hope you enjoy this spooky treat for you and your family! It was a hit with my little ones and Hubby! Plus during making the hot chocolate I made some little Hot Chocolate skeleton “stirrers” with our extra orange chocolate to mix in with or drinks to make it a little more delicious.
Delicious Halloween Hot Chocolate
In a large pot, add milk and half-and-half, and heat over medium heat until simmering but not boiling.
Stir in other your white chocolate chips or orange chocolate. Continue stirring until chocolate is completely melted and the mixture is creamy.
Stir until smooth. Serve warm.
Optional Add Whipped Cream on the top and a few Halloween themed sprinkles!
Now I threw in more white chocolate chips and a little bit of the orange chocolate, which is the reason for my lighter colored orange hot chocolate, but if you really want that Orange to pop then add most orange then white chocolate.
Fall is the start of my favorite time of the year. Cute clothes, fun crafts and games, and most importantly delicious food. Fall also means that there is pumpkin everything like Coffee, Cereal, Donuts, and of course Pie. Now I recently saw a photo of a pie on a stick.. I thought to my self, I wonder if its pumpkin or cherry , and if it would taste better if it was Mickey shaped, because everything always is. So I decided to make Mickey Shaped pumpkin pie pops, its actually really simple and fun to make with the kids!
My family loved these, so much that I’m probably going to make it for Thanksgiving for the kids! I sure hope you enjoy the Recipe! Let me know what you think down below in the comments!
Mickey Pumpkin Pie Pop's
A delicious Pumpkin Pie on a stick shaped like Mickey Mouse!
Roll our Pie crust, and with your Mickey Mouse cookie cutter cut out Mickey shapes.
Mix together in a bowl the pumpkin puree, pumpkin spice, maple syrup, and brown sugar.
Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper, and set out half of the Mickey shapes.
Brush beaten egg over each of the Mickey shapes.
Gently press the lollipop stick into the pie dough, making sure it's indented slightly into the dough. There should be at least 1 inch of lollipop stick pressed into the dough.
Add a small spoonful of the pumpkin mixture to the center of the shape, over the lollipop stick, being sure to leave at least half an inch of space around the outer edges of the pumpkin shape to seal it closed.
Line up the other half of the pumpkin shapes on top of the bottom pumpkin shape and the pumpkin mixture. Press the edges closed slightly with your fingers.
Using a fork, press around the edges of the pumpkin shape to seal it completely.
Brush the top of the pumpkins with the beaten egg.
Bake at 350F for 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown.
Sometimes Bentley is a serious picky eater, and I get tired of making different things for just him, that includes snacks. Something that has kinda changed my view on making different things for him is turning them into some fun “food art”. Today’s fun snack is Mickey strawberry and brownie sticks! Obviously another way to avoid it is by just telling him tough and make him eater whatever I fix him, but sometimes its just not worth it, just pick your battles on whats really important that day. Plus who wouldn’t want to make anything Mickey shaped?
Super simple to make!
What You’ll Need:
- Grill Skewers
So to make them, Just Start by taking a Strawberry slice it down the middle splitting it in half, use one side for Mickey’s face. Use the other side to make the ears, by cutting circles two circles.
Taking the small toothpicks break it in half, and use them to stick on the ears to the top of the unused side of the strawberry. Slide the strawberry Mickey onto the skewer you just made. With the brownies make them brownies according to the box, after baked let them cook then cut them into small squares squares or like I did cut a few mickey heads out, then slide them under the strawberries.
Then bam, a fun and delicious snacks/deserts. Bentley and I loved these, and it made making his snack less boring!
